Add & manage images
The image library
Managing the ISO files on your phone — importing, details, storage use, sorting, browsing, updates, and deleting.
The Library tab is where the images on your phone live before you copy them to a drive. What’s on the connected USB drive has its own tab, Drive — see Managing files on your drive.
What each image shows
Every image lists its name and size. Tap More details for:
- the full file name and exact size in bytes;
- the date it was added;
- its SHA-256 checksum (with a Copy button), and whether it was checksum verified;
- for images that match an official catalog entry, a Verified · (publisher) badge.
Sorting and layout
The Library remembers how you like to see it. Sort by Name, Size, or Date, ascending or descending, and switch between a list and a grid of tiles. It opens most-recent-first as a list until you change it, and the Drive tab keeps its own separate preference.
Storage at a glance
A segmented bar shows how your phone’s storage is split between Library, Other, and Free, so you can see how much room your images take.
Importing
Tap Import image to add files from your phone — see Adding ISO images.
Archives (.zip/.gz) are unpacked automatically, and name clashes ask Replace / Keep both / Cancel. If
a file isn’t something Ventoy can boot, BootForge says so and lets you import it anyway. Once the copy is
in your library, it offers to remove the originals so you’re not storing each image twice.
Browsing the files
Beyond the image list, the Library has a file browser for looking through the folders themselves, with breadcrumbs and folders listed first. Text files open in a free viewer. See Browsing files.
Update tracking
If an image matches a catalog entry and a newer version is published, BootForge flags Update available. The flag is free for everyone. You can update a single image or tap Update all; the old copy is removed once the new one downloads and verifies, or you can keep both.
Two things around it are Pro: downloading the replacement uses in-app downloads, and the background notification when updates appear is an opt-in Pro alert. See BootForge Pro.
Sending images to the drive
Select one or more images and tap Send to drive to copy them — see Copying images to the drive. Long-press to multi-select.
Deleting
Delete removes the image from your phone only; it never touches any USB drive. Multi-select to delete several at once, and the confirmation tells you how much space you’ll free.
